Hi, I’m Lucy Axon.

Life can be challenging at times, and we may feel overwhelmed, anxious, confused, hopeless, and a range of other emotions. I want you to know you don’t have to face this alone, I am here to help you.

You might be struggling with a specific challenge, for example, with your relationships, your job, parenting or something else, or you may simply be feeling lost or overwhelmed. I offer a calm space where you can start to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.

Taking the first step to reach out can feel daunting, but you don’t have to face things alone. If you’re ready to begin, I’m here to walk alongside you. Please click here to visit my contact page to get in touch.

Lucy's Therapy Space

Who I work with and how I work with you

I offer counselling to both adults and children & young people aged 9 upwards. I can help with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief, stress, relationship challenges, domestic abuse, divorce and separation, and low self-esteem.

I have a particular passion for supporting parents who have a child with a disability, a journey that often brings a unique mix of love, pressure, grief, and resilience. I will create a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to find your own way forward whilst I show you compassion and understanding as I have personal experience of parenting a child, who is now an adult, with severe physical and learning disabilities.

I am a fully qualified and accredited integrative counsellor with a strong person-centred foundation. I’ll be guided by you, because I believe you hold the keys to how change can happen in your life. I am registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I believe that everyone has the potential for healing and growth when they are truly heard and accepted just as they are. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to your individual needs.

Sessions are available online or in person from my counselling room in Cheltenham, a quiet, comfortable space designed to help you feel safe and at ease.

About me

I have a diploma in Counselling Adults, Children & Young People from TalkWell (formerly known as TIC+). I work as a counsellor for a local agency as well as in my private practice.

I also work as a Coordinator for a business that provides therapy to adults, children and young people, specialising in therapy for adoption families.

Before training as a counsellor, I studied for a degree in Theology at Aberystwyth University, and then I went on to have children and became a full-time carer to my eldest child until he left home.

In my spare time, I love to play the piano and crochet (not at the same time!) and binge-watch a good  TV series.
